Chapter 43: Expedition Planning

John stood before the open manhole, looking up at the Mountains of Mystery, just as we had left him. "Now to figure out how we're going to get up there." John said, for the Random TM's wouldn't be enough, he needed supplies. John explored the streets of Pewter City.

In a rather rundown part of town, John saw what appeared to be a midget in a trenchoat. He approaced the midget and the midget flashed him, opened up his trenchcoat to his naked body. The sight would have disgusted John, had it not been for the fact he was looking at the body of a Charmander. John was witnessing a Charmander Flasher. "What the hell is this?" John asked.
"Charmander!" said the Charmander.
"Why are you doing this? Don't you have a trainer?" John asked.
"Char, Char." Charmander said, shaking its head.
"Wow, for some reason, you've been abandoned, and are now flashing? Are you crazy?" John asked.
"Char, Char!" Charmander strangely said.
"You know what? Me and my Pokemon are going to the Mountains of Mystery to find treasure! Come with us!" John offered to Charmander.
"Charmander!" said Charmander, and it threw off its trenchcoat and went to John's side.
"Okay, for now, I'm going to need you to get inside this Poke Ball." John said, tossing a Poke Ball to Charmander, and officially capturing it.

It was around 4:30 in the afternoon. John was having a snack at a McDonalds and had all four of his Pokemon out.
"Okay guys." John spoke with his Pokemon. "We need to figure out how we're going to get to the Mountains. I'd rather not walk, but I don't want to use a helicopter since it might scare off the rare Green Pokemon."
"Mankey." said Mankey.
"Slowpoke!" said Slowpoke.
"Oh, sorry. Mankey and Geodude, meet Slowpoke and Charmander."
"Slowpoke!" said Slowpoke.
"Charmander!" said Charmander.
"Now, Mankey, I'm sure by now you know that, as my starter Pokemon, you are my sidekick." John said to Mankey.
"Mankey!" said Mankey.
"Geodude, you are going to be the official item creator. If I ever need a new item, I will make a Random TM on you to do it!"
"Geodude!" said Geodude.
"Slowpoke and Charmander, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with you yet. If you have any ideas, let me know and I will consider.
"Slowpoke." said Slowpoke.
"Charmander!" said Charmander.
"Okay guys, lets go!" John said, leading his four Pokemon out of the McDonalds.

All of John's Pokemon except Charmander were in their Poke Balls. He and Charmander were looking up at the Mountains of Mystery. It was a half an hour to sundown, and John felt it was time.
"Okay Charmander, you're going to get me up to the Mountains." John said, taking out a Random TM and writing onto its label "Transform into a Jetpack." John broke the TM on Charmander, and it crackled away.
"Now Charmander, Transform into a Jetpack!" John ordered.
"Charmander!" said Charmander, and it transformed into a Jetpack just as it should!
"Alright! Way to go Charmander!" John said, congratulating the Pokemon. John put on the Char-Jetpack and fluttered up to the Mountains of Mystery, wondering if he could solve the Mystery himself.
