Adam was visiting the Pokemon Day Care Center to take out the Pidgey he left in, and was surprised to see his bird had evolved into a Pidgeot.
“Whoa! Thanks Mr. Day Care Man!” said a gracious Adam.
“Don’t mention it!” That’ll be $6000.” Charged the Day Care Man. Adam took out his wallet and gave the Day Care Man 60 $100 Bills.
“Say, if I may ask, would you happen to know where I could get a Togepi?” asked Adam.
“Togepi?” responded the Day Care Man. “Wow, never thought I’d have a Kanto trainer ask that question.” The Day Care Man stood up. “Unfortunately, Togepi are rare Pokemon even in their native Johto. You’ll have to be extremely lucky to run into one in this continent.”
“Oh. Well I’ll keep looking!” Adam said, seeming not to really care, and left.
Adam continued his journey. He was heading back up to Pewter City after passing Cerulean. Around the corner, on the dark evening path, he came across three silhouettes. They appeared to be two humans, one male and female, and a Meowth on legs. Adam swiftly hid into the bushes, and eavesdropped on the conversation as the humans were handling a pneumatic drill.
“Are you sure the twerps will go back this way?” asked the male in a deep voice.
“Ash is going back to Viridian City, of course they will!” responded a female voice.
“Once they finish that silly mermaid ballet, the twerps will most probably leave immediately.” Said a strange, high-pitched cat-like voice, evidently the Meowth. The trio started using the drill to dig a hole for them to place a trap over.
“Ugh. I can’t believe they’re going to Viridian City! Now the boss will have to see us…” complained the male.
“When I finally get my hands on that Pikachu, I swear the first thing I’m gonna do is choke it!” said the female.
“Guys, chill.” Said the cat-like voice. “We’ll catch that Pikachu, just you wait and see!”
“Hee-hee, I’ve got a better idea!” Adam thought to himself, grabbing a Pokeball from his belt. Adam kissed the Pokeball, and threw it out into the darkness, releasing ‘Lectric, his Pikachu.
“Hey! What was that noise?” asked Meowth.
“Uhh, guys…” said the male. “Look over there.” He pointed to the new figure emerging into their vision.
“Piiii-ka!” said ‘Lectric, with a wicked grin on its face.
“Yaaaaaah! Pikachu’s come to kill us!” screamed the Meowth.
“Yaaaaaah!” screamed the male.
“Yaaaaaaah!” screamed the female.
“We gotta get out of here!” the three said in unison, and quickly rushed off down a steep hill.
“Oh! Maybe there’s a Togepi down there!” said Adam. “Come ‘Lectric!” Adam’s Pikachu jumped into his arms, and Adam jumped off and rolled down the steep hill. While rolling down the hill, he rolled past the trio, screaming as they fell down the hill.
“Why are we tumbling like this?” asked the male. “It seems something is missing!” Suddenly, the ground below them exploded, blasting them off into the dark sky. “WE’RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!” the three said in unison, and upon leaving vision, a bright star twinkled where they flew off.
Adam continued his long tumble, getting really dizzy in the process. He finally reached the bottom of the hill, after regaining his perspective, he noticed he was near the roots of Mt. Moon, around the cave known as “Cerulean Cave.” Adam examined the walls. “Ooooh, aaah!” Adam said, when he noticed a small, little cave in a crack. He peeked his head in, and saw an egg. The egg was white, round, and had blue and red triangles on it. “Yes!” he said, discovering a Togepi egg. He grabbed it, stuffed it into his backpack, and ran off. About ten seconds after Adam left, a Togetic flew down carrying fresh berries. It peeked its head into the hole, and screamed!
