Chapter 32.6: A Post Incident World

Brian and Matthew walked out of the airplane at Cinnabar Island’s airstrip. Brian decided to return to Cinnabar Island and discuss the recent incident at New Island with Professor Sashkatch. Matthew came along with Brian as a witness. The two trainers entered the Cinnabar Lab and Professor Sashkatch was there to greet them. “Welcome Brian, and I see you have a friend?” said the Professor.
“Hi Professor, this is Matthew.” Said Brian, introducing Matthew. “Professor, I’m not sure if you’ll believe me, but we saw the clone of Mew.”
“What? You did?” asked an intrigued Professor Sashkatch, seeming to quickly believe Brian’s testimony.
“Yes. And he seemed to be kind of upset with the world.” Brian continued. “He captured us and a lot of more trainers, and nearly killed one of them.”
“Oh no.” the Professor said concernedly. “This could be worse than I thought.”
“We managed to stop it though.” Said Matthew. “One of our contemporaries, Jake, defeated it with his Porygon, by scrambling its brain.”
“That’s interesting…” Professor Sashkatch said. “Maybe it’s true these “enhanced clones” are unstable…”
“Uh, Professor.” Brian started. “Please don’t mind me asking, but by “enhanced clones”, are you implying there are more?”
“Oh…” the Professor nervously. “There I go thinking out loud again.” Matthew and Brian looked at the Professor hoping for more. “When it seemed that the cloning of Mew was a failure, Giovanni, funder and head boss of Team Rocket, took it upon himself to create a new clone of Mew.”
“Wait a minute.” Said Matthew. “Giovanni himself is creating more Mewtwo’s? That may explain something I saw…”
“What is that, my boy?” asked Professor Sashkatch.
“I was in Celadon Rocket Casino just before the terrorist attack. I successfully escaped with my Nidoking and the move Dig, but before I did that, I came across what looked to be a silver colored cat Pokemon on a computer screen.” Matthew rambled, apparently noting something indeed happened offscreen after he lost Jake.
“A Silver Mew?” asked Professor Sashkatch. “What is that fool doing?”
“Professor Sashkatch, may I ask you something else?” Matthew asked.
“Sure, what else do you need to ask about?” said the Professor.
“Well, Brian said you were a Pokemon Cryptozoologist.” Matthew said. “Have you ever heard of the “Yahoe”?”
“The Yahoe?” asked a surprised Professor Sashkatch. “You’ve seen the Yahoe?”
“What is the Yahoe, Professor?” asked Brian.
“A mythical creature that is found on the island of Lubbers.” Answered Professor Sashkatch.
“The Island of Lubbers?” asked Matthew. “That sounds ridiculous.”
“There are parts of the world not yet explored.” Continued the Professor. “As a matter of fact, there is a far Southern Continent that is rarely explored. It was there that archaeologists discovered the fossilized Mew eyelash that was used for the cloning of Mewtwo.”
“Hmmm. Let me guess, the Island of Lubbers is an island of the coast of this continent?” asked Brian.
“Bingo!” said Professor Sashkatch. “Explorers have seen the Yahoe only on Lubbers, but there have been reports of trainers seeing it on their own Pokemon adventures. Some say it chooses who it wants to see.”
“Why would it choose me?” asked Matthew.
“I wish I could tell you.” Answered the Professor. “Now let me show you something.” Professor Sashkatch rolled up to his computer, and brought up an image.

“This is an artists interpretation of the Yahoe.” Said the Professor. Matthew was bewildered, it was the exact same photograph he saw in the Psycho’s Mental Institution, but he decided not to tell Professor Sashkatch about that.
“What?” asked Brian. “Ya-hoe?” he said, pronouncing it like it’s spelled on the computer screen.
“Actually Brian,” said Professor Sashkatch. “It’s pronounced Yey-hoe, and try to say the y and the h together, to make a “yhhy” kind of sound.”
“Professor, this has been valuable information, but I think it’s time for me to continue my Pokemon Journey.” Said Matthew.
“Oh? Well, alright.” Said the Professor. “If any of you need me further, I’ll be there.”
“Thanks Professor.” Said Brian, and he and Matthew walked out of the Pokemon Lab and to the airport to catch a flight back to Fushcia City.
