Chapter 19: The Recent Adventures of Jake

Pre-Chapter: Situation at Bill's Lighthouse

“Hello, Mr. Bill?” asked the courier, looking around the sea cottage adjacent to Cerulean Cape Lighthouse. While walking around the house, the courier was shown to be Andy, who had apparently started a job as a courier. “Mr. Bill? I have an important package from a “Mr. Giovanni”.” Andy said, but there was still no response. Andy returned to the front door, and noticed a note attached to it.

“I have gone away for a bit, to research a mystery near Mt. Moon. I expect to be back in 2 months.

Signed,
Bill.”

Andy shook the doorknob, and found the door to be unlocked. He opened the door and went in. “I guess there won’t be any trouble if I go in just to drop off this package.” Said Andy, to himself. Inside, there was a desk, with several papers and paperweights on top. There was a Computer with a picture of an Eevee as a Desktop Wallpaper. In the back of the room, there was a strange machine with two doors on each side. Andy walked towards the strange machine. “Hmmm, I wonder what Bill does with this?” Andy asked himself. Behind him, a shadowed figure creeps slowly behind. With an empty beer bottle in hand, the figure smacks Andy’s head, breaking the glass, and causing Andy to fall to the ground, unconscious. Andy lay there stationary, and the figure grabs one of the six Pokeball’s in Andy’s belt.

Chapter 19: The Recent Adventures of Jake

A week has passed since the incident at Rocket Casino. Since it was viewed as a public nuisance, the terrorist attack was forgiven, as there were no known casualties. Jake decided to rest up for the next seven days at the Hostel in Celadon. He discovered a lot of great uses for his new Virtual Pokemon, Porygon. He decided to purchase an Ice Beam TM from the Celadon Department Store and taught it to Porygon, deciding to specialize it with “Beams.” While playing with it plugged into a computer, Porygon warped him to Lavender Town!
“WOW!” Jake said, dumbfounded. “Porygon, you can teleport me anywhere in Kanto?”
“Pory! Porygon!” said Porygon’s robotic voice, agreeing with Jake.
“Well this is cool!” said Jake. “I’m gonna visit the towns I skipped, and do something at them!” Jake said, deciding to waste time doing likely useless stuff.
Jake explored Lavender Town. The spooky Pokemon Tower was surely a sight to be seen. He thought he could make out a lone pair of a Gastly & Gengar in a window, likely brothers. “All they need is a Haunter and they’ll be a whole family.” Said Jake. He noticed there was a radio station just at the foot of the hill to the tower. He went back into uptown, and checked out Mr. Fuji’s Pokemon Shelter. Inside was Mr. Fuji, a Nidorina, a Clefairy, and a Psyduck. Jake bent down to the Psyduck and hugged it. “You poor Psyduck..” said Jake.
“…Psy??” said the confused Psyduck. Jake then left and went to the Pokemon Center.
“Go, Porygon!” said Jake, releasing his Porygon. He plugged Porygon into the PC USB. “Travel to Vermillion City Porygon!” Jake commanded.
“Porygon, Porygon.” Said Porygon. Within a total of two minutes, Jake travelled on Porygon to Vermillion City.
“LET’S GO!” said an excited Jake. He ran out and straight to the harbor. “Go Pikablu!” said Jake, releasing his magical blue Pikachu with Marill ears..
“Pika-Blu!” said Pikablu.
“Okay Pikablu, lets fish! Use Thunderbolt on the water!” Jake commanded.
“Wait kid! Don’t do that!” said a construction worker.
“Pika-bluuuuuuuuuuuu!” Pikablu said, as it fired an electrical bolt of lightning into the harbor.
“Oh crap, you moron!” said the construction worker. “There was a Gyarados rampage about a week ago.”
“Gyarados rampage?” asked Jake. Suddenly, the skies went dark, and six angry Gyarados’s rose from the harbor. All of them lunge towards Pikablu. “Pikablu!!!!” said Jake, and he rushed in, and grabbed Pikablu, and ran as fast as he can, away from the Gyarados that can’t follow him on land. Giving up, the six Gyarados returned to the sea. “That was a close one, right Pikablu?” Jake asked. He looked down, and Pikablu was having a heart attack, and fell unconscious. “OH NO! PIKABLU!” Jake screamed, and rushed Pikablu to the Pokemon Hospital.
“Clear!” the doctors shocked Pikablu’s chest. “Clear!” the doctors did it again. “Clear!” three times the charm, and Pikablu was revived.
Pikablu was back to normal in no time, seeming to be unfazed emotionally at what had just happened. Jake decided to walk up to Saffron City, having not taking that Route before. After hiking up the hills, he fell into a hole that was barely covered up by grass.
“Ooomppfff!” said Jake, as he landed at the bottom of the hole, and seemed to be in a secret laboratory. He got on his feet, and explored the secret, dark complex; it was exactly what you think a secret laboratory would look like. Purple and Blue LED lights lit the high-end equipment. Around the corner, a figure caught Jake’s eye. It looked like it was his archrival, Alex! But it appeared he has died his hair brown. He was experimenting with what appeared to be a metal-plated Golduck in a specimen tube. With his quick reflexes, Alex spotted Jake snooping around. “Aahh!” Jake screamed, and ran off, but slipped in the smooth floor. “Please! I didn’t mean to discover you!” Jake pleaded.
“Hey, chill. I’m not going to hurt you.” Said Alex.
“Huh?” said a relieved Jake. Alex held out his hand to pick Jake up.
“Come, let me show you something.” Alex said, Jake grabbed his hand and was picked up. Alex escorted Jake to a different room, walking past the metal Golduck.
“Uh… Alex?” Jake said, deciding to ignore the different hair color.
“Hmm?” Alex responded.
“What were you doing with that Golduck?” Jake asked.
“I can’t tell you much, but I’m experimenting with grafting with Pokemon.” Alex answered.
“What? Why?” asked an intrigued Jake.
“I can’t say now.” Responded Alex, and looked away. Alex led Jake into a small office room, and pointed to the chair in front of the desk. “Jake, I’m afraid not everything is all “happy-place” in the Pokemon World anymore.” Alex explained. “The balance between “Good & Evil” is falling out of place, and the bad news is, there will eventually be a war between the two.”
“Is there something we can do to prevent it?” asked Jake.
“Well, to answer that,” Alex responded. “No one can really ‘predict’ the future, but we can be ‘warned.’ It’s up to us to determine our future.”
“Good advice.” Agreed Jake.
“Take this.” Alex handed a vial of clear liquid to Jake. On its label read “KO-35.” Jake took the vial. “I want you to hold onto this, you’ll know when to use it.”
“Right.” Said Jake, and he stood up and walked out the door, appearing in a Vermillion City Burger King.
