Chapter 15: The Rocket Casino

Ten days have passed since Jake met Ash Ketchum and his friends Misty & Brock. Since then, Jake decided to skip Vermillion City and go straight to Celadon. He took his time getting to Celadon City so he could train and capture Pokemon. He captured a Growlithe just outside of Celadon City and trained his Beedrill & Pikablu extra hard. He decided he did not need his Paras, Clefairy & Venonat and deposited them into the PC.
Jake released Pikablu from its Pokeball.
“Pi-kablu!” said Pikablu.
“Let’s explore the city Pikablu!” said Jake. The two explored the city. There was a rather large multi-story casino just south of the Pokemon Center, with a red R as its logo. Jake decided he wanted to check out this casino, and went.
Little did Jake know, on the second floor, two rookie trainers are also exploring. It was Andy & Jason, evidently already snooping around and hoping to confront Giovanni, the head and master of Team Rocket.
“You sure you remembered it, Andy?” Asked Jason.
“Yes, I got it!” responded Andy. The two of them encountered a barrier. “Do it?” asked Andy.
“Yes, do it.” Jason said. Andy took out a Pokeball, and released the Pokemon in it.
Jake was nearing the entrance of the casino. “I hope my luck is with me today!” he said, when suddenly, a massive explosion erupted the 2nd and 3rd floor.
“Holy Shit! What was that?” Jake screamed.
“Oh no! Was that one of the bosses Electrode?” asked an attendant. Jake ran off into the casino, ignored all the games, and went straight to the second floor. The power was off and the hallways were dark, the fires having been put out by the sprinkler system. “Oh no, I don’t have a light…” Jake said.
“I do.” Said a familiar approaching voice. It was Matthew, he was holding a flashlight and gave another to Jake. “We’re all supposed to be going through the Rocket Casino and fight Giovanni.” Matthew explained. “But only one person, or team can beat Giovanni. Why don’t we make an alliance and get through this place?” Matthew asked.
“Deal.” Jake said with no hesitation, and the two shook hands. Little did Matthew and Jake know, they were not the first, as Andy & Jason were already above them exploring and stealing a lot of junk.
“Collect all these documents Andy.” Jason said. “And some of these item balls may have Pokemon in them. Team Rocket does steal Pokemon after all.”
“Are we going to return them to their trainers?” Andy asked.
“No, I’m gonna hold them for later.” Jason answered. Going through a pile of photographs, Jason came across pictures of the three legendary birds, Articuno, Zapdos & Moltres. Jason stared at the picture intently. He took the picture and stuffed it into his backpack. “Okay, time to move on.” Jason commanded, and the two went further upstairs.
Meanwhile, Jake and Matthew have just finished a double battle, with Growlithe & Nidorino victorious against a Rocket’s Ratatta & Koffing.
“Great work Jake!” said Matthew. “Let’s move on.” Jake and Matthew continued down the corridor.
“Wait.” Said Jake. “Let’s go in here.” Jake pointed at a door.
“What? That’s just a random office.” Matthew said.
“There may be secrets in there, lets check it out.” Demanded Jake. The office room was pitch black, and there was a figure sitting behind the desk.
“Hmm Hmm Hmm.” The figure laughed.
“It’s Giovanni!” said Jake, “We have him!”
“No it isn’t dude.” Matthew said, shining his flashlight over the figure. “It’s just a dummy.”
“Ohhhh. Well, I know what to do. Go Beedrill!” Jake said, releasing Beedrill into the office. “Beedrill, slash open the dummy.”
“What? What good will that do?” asked Matthew.
“There may be secrets inside the dummy.” Answered Jake.
“Are you kidding? It’s just a dummy!” Said Matthew. Beedrill slashed open the dummy, and stuffing flew out all over the desk.
“Uh, yeah.” Said an embarrassed Jake. “Beedrill, return.” Jake recalled his starter Pokemon.
One floor above, Andy & Jason were picking the lock to what they thought was the door to the stairway to the final floor, where Giovanni’s office was located. “It’s too bad this isn’t Harry Potter world.” Jason said stupidly.
“There isn’t even a key Pokemon.” Said Andy, tossing the used-up bobby pin.
“Blast, I have to get to Giovanni first!” said Jason.
“Hey, what is that?” asked Andy, pointing at a creature walking towards them from the darkness. It looked like a little green bird, with a leaf beak and a set of lips underneath.
“If that’s a Pokemon, its not one I’ve ever seen.” Jason said. “Too bad neither of us have a Pokedex.
“Hoe, hoe!” said the creature, and a key suddenly appeared in its beak. Jason took the key.
“This is the key?” Jason asked.
“Yahoe!” the creature said, and vanished in the blink of an eye.
“What was that all about?” Andy asked.
“Doesn’t matter, let’s go.” Jason said, as he opened the door and sure enough the stairs to the final floor lay in front of them. Jason looked up the stairs and held out a rubber chicken. “Ready Andy? No backing down?” he asked.
Andy held out a roll of duct tape. “I’m with you.” He said with a mean looking smile.
