Chapter 34: The Start of something New.

Jake was driving in his convertible down Kanto expressway, entering from Celadon City and heading toward Pewter City. His plan was to meet his pupil Ash Ketchum, whom he heard was heading back to Viridian City to battle for his last badge. "Alright, time to put the pedal to the metal!" Jake said, shifting into 4th Gear, and speeding down the overpass. His music played songs from the Protomen as he sped down.

Jake arrived on the outskirts of Pewter City going toward Mt. Moon. He jumped out of his car, and recalled it with its Item Ball, and walked up the trail. The sun was almost ready to set, surely Ash and his friends would be close to Pewter City by now. Continuing up the path, Jake spotted a blue-shirted trainer and walked up to him.
"Excuse me, have you seen Ash lately?" Jake asked the trainer.
"Ash? Huh! That loser. What would anyone want with him?" answered the trainer. Jake suddenly recognized the trainer, he met him in a Viridian City Hostel when he first started his Pokemon journey.
"Wait a minute..." Jake said. "You are Gary!"
"Yes. I. Am. Gary!" Gary responded, with a mocking tone.
"Ohho, well Ash isn't going to be a loser when I'm done with him!" said a certain Jake.
"Whatever." said Gary, who just walked off.

After continuing his walk for a few more minutes, Jake spotted Ash, Misty and Brock in the distance. "Hey! Ash!" shouted Jake.
"Wow! Look who it is!" said Misty.
"Jake!" said Ash.
"Pikachu!" said Ash's Pikachu.
"Jake, I never did get a chance to thank you for saving my life." said a grateful Ash.
"All was my duty." said Jake. "I care about your well-being as a trainer. I want to travel with you guys for awhile. I'm sure Ash could learn a lot from me."
"Uh, okay..." responded Ash, not knowing what else to say.
"Great, why don't you guys jump in?" Jake said, releasing his convertible from its Item Ball. "First, we're going to Pewter City."
"Why Pewter City?" asked Brock. "That's not where the last gym is."
"Remember the Four Stats?" asked Jake. "It's time we elaborate further on it. We're gonna run some tests." Ash, Misty and Brock entered the convertible, and Jake sped off towards Pewter City. Eventually, Jake pulled up to a Pokemon Center. "Lets go!" he said, and Ash, Misty and Brock followed him in.
Inside the Pokemon Center, Jake released his Porygon from its Poke Ball. "Porygon!" said Porygon.
"Alright Porygon, connect via USB!" commanded Jake. "Ash, put this on." jake handed Ash a brain-wire hat, which Ash put on over his head. "Now Porygon, Stat Scan!" Jake said.
"Porygon, Porygon." said Porygon. "Brrrrrrrrrrrrp...." "Stats Found."

- Fighters Promise - 3
- Psychic Ability - 1
- Awareness - 6
- Endurance - 6

"Wow, Fighters Promis of 3." said Jake. "The low Psychic ability is understandable. Everyone knows you're dumb as a rock." Jake insulted.
"Hey!" resented Ash.
"But its true." said Jake. "Everyone thought it was stupid of you to get rid of that Primeape."
"Ungh, Primeape?" Ash said, possibly remembering.
"Anyway, now, let me show you my stats." said Jake, grabbing the wire hat and putting it on his own head.

"Stats Found." said Porygon.

- Fighters Promise - 2
- Psychic Ability - 6
- Awareness - 3
- Endurance - 4

"Hmmm, Psychic Ability, 6?" Jake pondered.
"Hey, your Fighters Promise is lower than mine!" pointed out Ash.
"Yes, that's because I'm not even on a badge quest. All I'm doing is traveling with Pokemon." Jake explained, then a vision of Mewtwo's Psychic ability failing on him went through his head. "Well Ash, I think I good way to raise your Fighters Promise is to catch more Pokemon. Professor Oak told it to you once, you cannot be a good trainer if you don't catch Pokemon."
All of a sudden, the lights went off, and two laughing echoes appeared in the room.
"You've fallen for our trap!" said a female voice.
"And just before I snapped!" said a deep, masculine voice.
"I know those voices..." said Brock.
"Prepare for trouble!" said the female.
"And make it double." said the male.

To Protect the World from devastation.
To unite all peoples within our nation.
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
To extent our reach to the stars above.
Jessie.
James.
Team Rocket, blasts off at the speed of light.
Surrender now, or prepare to fight!

"Who are you guys?!" said Jake.
"We're hear to capture your Pikachu! Go Arbok!" shouted Jessie.
"Go Weezing!" said James.
"ChAAA-Bok!" said Arbok.
"Weezing, whee..." said Weezing.
"Go Beedrill!" said Jake, releasing Beedrill. "You too Porygon!"
"Bzzz-Drill!" said Beedrill.
"Porygon." said Porygon.
"Weezing, Smokescreen!" ordered James.
"Weeezing..." said Weezing, puffing out smoke.
"Porygon! Do something about the smokescreen!" Jake suggested.
"Porygon, Porygon!" Porygon shot at the computer with USB cords, plugged into the internet, and transfigured into a fan, which blowed the Smokescreen away. "Smoke, deleted." said a feminine voice coming from the computer, possibly coming from Porygon.
"Now, let's go Pikablu!" said Jake, tossing another Poke Ball from his belt.
"Pikablu!" said Pikablu, upon completing its energy transformation.
"Pikablu, finish them off with a Thunderbolt!" Jake commanded.
"Pika!" said Pikablu, cackling electricity with its cheeks and zapping Team Rocket, causing an explosion to send them away into the sky.
"Waaaah!" said Team Rocket.

We're Blasting off again! *ding*

"And there you have it!" said Jake. "Do you understand Ash?"
"Yes, I'll try to start capturing more Pokemon!" answered Ash.
"Good, then tomorrow we'll head for Viridian City." proposed Jake. "How about we start things off in the morning with a Pokemon Battle?"
"Alright, sounds good." responded Ash.
"Great, this is the start of something great." said Jake.

Chapter 33: I.S.E, I.S.A.

The lights of the laboratory were dim, most of the illumination coming from the blue and orange glows filling the specimen tubes. Scientists were abound the laboratory, some at computers, some analyzing the specimen tubes. "Is everyone ready? The boss is on his way." said one of the Scientists, and each of his colleagues got into place, prepared for guests.
The sliding doors opened up, and in enters Giovanni, his guests, and two Rocket guards. "As you can see, Professor Sashkatch, my own clones are well secured." started Giovanni. "Unlike the last clone, these will have each other."
"Perhaps I misjudged you, Giovanni." Responded Prof. Sashkatch. "But something still doesn't seem right.
"I know what you're thinking Professor." said Giovanni. "But these new clones will not be used for Team Rocket's purposes, but for my own." Professor Sashktach did not respond and looked at the specimen tubes.
"I hope you are aware of the damage caused, as well as what further tampering could do in the future." said a bothered Professor Sashkatch. "I'll leave you, for now."
All of a sudden, a ceiling grate fell onto the ground, followed by a smoke bomb. Smoke quickly filled the air, causing scientists to cough at the gas. "So Giovanni, I see you've learned nothing from me." said a mysterious voice. Out from the smoke, a figure appeared. He wore a hood, hiding his face.
"Who are you?" asked Giovanni. "Get out of here at once!" The hooded figure walked up to Giovannly slowly with swag.
"You know what? I'm just not going to do that." he said, then walked to the specimen tubes containing the Blue and Orange glow. "Operation I.S.E." he identified the Blue glow. "and Operation I.S.A." looking at the Orange glow. "Why even bother creating more Legendaries? Don't you know I'll eventually acquire them? As I am about to now?" Giovanni brandished an AK-47.
"Get out of my laboratory or die!" he screamed.
"GO RAPIDASH!" the hooded character shouted, throwing a Pokeball. The energy materialized into the flaming stallion, it neighing a mighty neigh. "Rapidash, Fire Blast!" he commanded.
"Nyaaaaahhhhhh!" Rapidash neighed, and blasted blistering hot flames from its snout. The laboratory burst into flames.
"Oh no!" said Giovanni. "Escort Professor Sashkatch out of here at once!" he ordered his Rocket escorts. "Do what you can to save them!" he said to the remaining Scientists.
"Yes sir!" said the only Scientist not fleeing or using a fire extinguisher. He ran up to the computer between the specimen tubes.
"I don't think so." said the hooded man, he waggled his arm, and using Psychic power, tossed the Scientist away from the computer. "As you have seen, I have new powers." he said, and walked up to the computer himself. "Now, I will have even more!" he finished, with greed in his speech. The Scientist crawled up from the ground, and reached into his lab coat pocket, pulling out a gun. He wasted no time, and aimed for the hooded person's shoulder, promptly shooting him.
"Yaaaaaaahhhhh!" shouted the hooded character, so much did the gunshot hurt him, that it made his hood fall off. The scientist did not recognize him, but it was indeed a young trainer-looking child. The Scientist tackles the injured child, pushes him onto the ground, and goes back to the computer and hastily pushes the big blue button.
"No!" angrily shouted the hooded one. The bottoms of the specimen tubes began to stir something up, and the Blue and Orange contents launched upwards at jet speed, where they're being launched to, a complete mystery.

The Story will continue...

My laptop is most likely destroyed, I was prepared for that though, and I've been spending my time on my parents computer. However, I have decided that the story simply must go on, and will continue writing on this computer. Perhaps nobody is really reading it, but it's just important that I get this story out of my head. It's about 1/3rd complete and frankly I'm enjoying twisting the world of Pokemon like this!

The current Mewtwo's Party arc, however, will be skipped over. My Mac's harddrive may have survived the accident so I may still release the full story in the future, but as nothing really exciting happened, I don't feel it necessary to retype it at this time. Here's a summary of the story:

- Brian instantly figures out "Mewtwo" was the clone of Mew that Prof. Sashkatch told him about. This bothers Mewtwo.
- Jake recognizes Mewtwo as the Pokemon he and his Weedle met in Viridian Forest.
- Jake, Matthew, Adam and Brian instantly attempt to thwart Mewtwo, and fail.
- The four decide to let Mewtwo have his way, for now.
- The rest of the Pokemon movie's story goes on as it did, but now Mewtwo is also cloning Adam, Matthew, Jake and Brian's Pokemon (Eight Pikachu's, and Four Gyarados's included)
- After Ash rescues all the Pokemon, Jake is reunited with his four Pokemon, Scyther giving him a sad, puppy-eyed look, and hugging him...
- Meanwhile, Marble is in the underground complex. Him and Dratini tracked the complex down as an area where Dratini's family has recently been. Eventually, he appears at the party and releases Dratini, Bill, Meaky & Gyarados.
- Mewtwo is angered at how things are turning out, and activates the armor Giovanni once gave him to power his Psychic Powers.
- Mew and Mewtwo are having their battle, Ash jumps in between the two, after firing their respective Shadow Ball's. Upon impact of the two spheres, Ash is turned to stone.
- Jake, overcome with anger at witnessing the apparent death of his pupil, launches toward Mewtwo. Mewtwo attempts to stop Jake, but he resists Mewtwo's Psychic powers somehow, and shatters the left lens of Mewtwo's helmet.
- After Jake beats Mewtwo up, eventually choking him with his neck-tentacle, Mewtwo passes out. Jake then commands his Porygon to "Go into Mewtwo's Brain and Scramble it!" Porygon obeys.
- Using the vial of liquid labeled KO-35, Jake revives Ash.
- Mewtwo starts spazzing out, and the castle starts to crumble. Porygon escapes the computers, and all the trainers escape the castle, led by Mew. Drew appears and says he "took care" of the mysterious woman, her identity not revealed.
- Mewtwo is presumed dead. All trainers who witnessed these events remember everything, including Ash, Misty and Brock.
- Meaky, Marble's Magikarp, evolves into a Gyarados, making this his 2nd one total.

So there you have it. I'm also going to be rearanging chapters too. I was actually in the middle of writing the "I.S.Z. I.S.A." chapter when my accident happened, so I'd better focus on this chapter while the ideas are still there instead of rewritting the ones before.

Till then, this is Thriller, aka IBA signing off!

Updates & Sneak Peaks

I am sorry to say that due to an unfortunate cup spilling accident, A Kanto Retelling is on an indefinite hiatus. I am hoping my Mac is repairable, but water does a lot to a laptop, at least the hard drive may be alright and I could at least preserve all my important files and chapters of the story. The story will go on, I do not wish to stop writing and I will return someday, hopefully soon.

Sucks that we're gonna have to leave on a cliffhanger, because shit's really gonna get down.

Since we all know I'm into teasers, I have no choice but to give some sneak peaks, especially since we're going on a break.

- After the party, Adam decides to go on a random quest, and eventually kidnaps a Pokemon egg.

- Professor Sashkatch has more to say.

- Giovanni is funding two experiments, codenamed "Operation I.S.Z." and "I.S.A." The Hooded Rider is aware.

~ As things started to calm down after Team Rocket's blast-off, the lights went off. Ash, Misty, Brock & Jake were confused. The sounds of glass shattering filled the air, and out comes a Weezing exhausting Smog from its poison bags, causing the four to cough and hack. A new figure emerged from the smog.
"Who, are you?" asked Ash
"Hahaha. So you're Ash?" asked the mysterious figure.
"Who the Hell are you?" asked Jake, running up to the figure aiming to strike him.
"Muk, Acid Armor!" he commanded.
"Muuuuuuk!" said the gelationous glob, melting into the ground to trap Ash, Misty, Brock and Jake.
"I have been paid big money to kill you Ash!" said the figure.

Chapter 28: The Party

Marble was walking through an underground complex all by himself. The complex was dark and dank, and he appeared to be searching for something. “Hmmm, it’s gotta be around here somewhere…” he said to himself.

Meanwhile, Adam, Matthew & Brian arrived on New Island after braving the treacherous storms. “You guys made it!” exclaimed Brian.
“Yeah, we did. But where’s Jake?” Matthew asked. Suddenly, Adam’s Pokedex booted up.
“Hey, wait a minute, something’s wrong with my Pokedex!” Adam said, pulling his Pokedex out to see a bunch of random binary numbers on its screen. Suddenly, the Pokedex started to rumble, and flash out white light, then a beam of white light emerged from the Pokedex, and formed into the figure of Jake and his Porygon. “Yaaaaaaah!” Adam screamed.
“Hey guys.” Jake said, “I used my Porygon to get here via internet.”
“Next time ask before doing that!” Adam requested.
“… Sorry man, I just didn’t want to miss the party.” Jake said, apologizing.
“Hey dude, it’s okay, I was just surprised, that’s all.” Adam said to Jake.
“Heeeeyyyy! Dudes!” said a voice coming from the distance. Approaching them, riding a Fearow was Drew.
“Hey Drew! You made it!” shouted Matthew.
“Of course! I wouldn’t miss this party!” Drew said. Drew landed on the dock of New Island and recalled his Fearow.
“So, what’s next?” asked Brian.
“I don’t know. I guess we’re supposed to go into this castle.” Matthew said, pointing at the strange building occupying the small New Island. The five trainers walked up the spiral staircase and were met by a woman.
“Welcome to New Island.” Said the woman in a monotone voice. “Our master is expecting you.” The woman led the five trainers into the castle through the big double doors. Inside the castle, three trainers were eating hors douvre’s, and all their Pokemon were out enjoying their time playing in fountains provided.
“Ash isn’t here yet…” said Jake, disappointed to see his pupil not there.
“You five, combined with these three are so far the only trainers who have passed the first test.” Said the woman.
“Test? You mean that storm was created on purpose?” asked Matthew. The woman did not answer.
“Hahaha! This is awesome!” said Jake, who approached the three trainers. “Hey Fergus, guess what?” Jake asked the trainer in the blue wife-beater, apparently already knowing his name. “I once hugged a Psyduck!” Jake said, thinking Fergus cares.
“Ummmm. Good for you!” responded Fergus.
“Oh, and Corey! Great story for you! One time, while battling a Kadabra, I made my Paras eat a cotton ball!” Jake continued to the other male trainer, not realizing what he said didn’t make much sense in context.
“Uhhh, go away!” Corey responded, rightfully so.
“Oh, whatever.” Jake said, walking away from the trainers, and going back to his friends.
“Um, excuse me, miss.” Said Adam to the woman. “Who, exactly, is our host?”
“For now, that’s a secret.” The woman answered.
“How come?” asked Matthew. “I mean, he’ll eventually show himself, why keep it a secret?”
“He wants to not reveal himself until all trainers who are coming arrive.” The woman answered. “Please release your Pokemon, from their Pokeballs.” She asked.
“Uh, okay…” said Matthew. “Go Ivysaur, Nidoking, Gyarados and Parasect!” Matthew threw four Pokeballs into the air and each materialized into their respective Pokemon.
“Go Blaze, Squigglystuff, ‘Lectric, Batty, Pinko and Flapper.” Said Adam, releasing his Charizard, Jigglypuff, Pikachu, Golbat, Clefairy, and Pidgeot.
“Go Pikachu, Aerodactyl, Tangela and Pinsir!” said Brian, releasing his four Pokemon.
“I’ll release my Pokemon eventually, but right now, I’m waiting for someone.” Said Jake.
“Very well.” Said the woman.
“Hey, where’d Drew go?” asked Adam, noticing Drew was mysteriously absent.
“Didn’t he enter the castle with us?” asked Brian.
“He’s probably just in the bathroom.” Matthew suggested. “He’ll be out in time for the party.”
Just then, the double doors opened, and three more trainers walked in. It was Ash, Misty & Brock. “It seems the last of our guests have arrived.” Said the woman. “I’ll inform our host.”
“Ash! You made it!” said a happy Jake. “Ready to have our Pokemon Battle?” he asked.
“I guess so. Let’s go, Pikachu!” Ash said, commanding his Pikachu, which jumped off its shoulder and prepared for battle.
“I know just who to use.” Said Jake, grabbing a Pokeball from his belt. “Lets go, Scyther!” Jake said, throwing the Pokeball, and releasing his Mantis Pokemon. “Now, Scyther, use Swords Dance, then Quick Attack!” Jake commanded.
“SCYTHER!” said Scyther angrily, who ignored Jake’s orders and launched toward Pikachu. Without any traces of decency & humanity, Scyther, using its sickles, stabbed Pikachu’s stomach, causing a fountain of blood to gush out of the electric rodent.
“OH NO! PIKACHU!” screamed Ash, doing the Home Alone face.
“Ah! Return Scyther!” Jake said, recalling his Scyther, apparently winning the battle. “I need to figure out what’s wrong with you!” Jake said, talking to his Pokeball.
“Ladies & Gentlemen.” Said the woman. “Please release all your Pokemon now. Your host is ready.”
“Alright, then.” Responded Jake, releasing his Beedrill, Pikablu & Porygon from their Pokeballs. Ash, Misty & Brock only released a fraction of their Pokemon. “Um, guys. She said release ALL your Pokemon!” said Jake, dictating what Ash, Misty & Brock do.
“You know, you’re getting pretty annoying.” Said Brock, hitting the nail on the head. Brock released his Onix, Geodude & Zubat to join his Vulpix, Misty released her Staryu & Goldeen with her Psyduck, and Ash released his Pidgeotto with his Bulbasaur & Squirtle.
“Ladies & Gentlemen.” Said the woman. “May I present to you, the most strongest Pokemon Trainer in the World. Mewtwo.” As she finished, an elevator slid down its shaft into the party, Jake not believing what he was seeing.

To Be Continued…

Chapter 27: Calm of the Storm

“It is time.” Said a mysterious voice.

It was time for the Party on New Island. The seaport of Fuchsia City was packed with trainers hoping to catch ferries to the party, but all disappointed to see that the weather was not suitable to travel through. Among the trainers were Adam, Matthew, Brian, and Jake.
“I can’t believe this, guys. I was really looking forward to the party.” Said Adam.
“I hope the weather clears up, this looks like it’s going to have a lot of people!” observed Jake.
“I don’t think they’re going to let us go at all.” Said a new voice, approaching them. He appeared to be a tall, muscular trainer with a deep tan and long, braided dreadlocks. “’Sup dudes? My name is Drew.” Drew said, introducing himself. “I’m a trainer from the Southern Islands.”
“The Southern Islands?” asked Jake, interested.
“Yeah, they’re a chain of islands way south.” Drew said, stating the obvious.
“Why do you not think they will let us through?” asked Matthew.
“They’re talking on about spirits being upset with trainers and other yada yada.” Answered Drew. “And they’re talking about things like healing tears and such.”
Just then, three trainers Jake recognized walked into the port. “Would you guys excuse me?” Jake pardoned himself from the conversation, and walked up to the three trainers who appeared to be Ash Ketchum, and Misty & Brock, the Gym Leaders. “Ash, am I glad to see you!”
“Uh…” said Ash.
“Don’t you recognize me? It’s me! Jake!” Jake said.
“Uh… I think I remember you…” said Ash.
“Yeah, but you didn’t even tell us your name.” said Misty, holding a Pokemon never seen before.
“Toki!” said the Pokemon.
“Yeah, I didn’t tell you because I wanted to be mysterious then.” Jake explained. “Have you become a better trainer, Ash?” Jake asked Ash.
“Yeah, I got Seven Badges, and captured seven more Pokemon.” Ash answered.
“Seven? That’s it? Why don’t you catch more Pokemon?” Jake inquired.
“Uh, I don’t know…” Ash said, mind blank.
“I hope you haven’t forgotten about the Four Stats.” Jake said. “They will be important soon.” Ash, Misty & Brock looked around not knowing what to say. “Tell you what, when we get to New Island, lets have a Pokemon Battle!” Jake offered.
“Okay, sure.” Ash said. “A warm-up fight is just what I’d need to take on the Greatest Pokemon Trainer!”
“Fine then.” Jake concluded, and walked back to his friends. “Any updates?” Jake asked them.
“They said the captain is going to decide soon.” Said Brian. “But I’m starting to think we’re not going anywhere.”
After ten more minutes had past, the sea captain of the ferry came up to make an announcement. “I’m sorry everyone, but there will be no ferries to New Island. The weather is just too unsafe.” He said, leading to the crowd moaning.
“But what about the party?” asked a trainer.
“The World’s Greatest Pokemon Trainer is expecting us!” said another.
“I say we just use our Pokemon!” proclaimed a trainer.
“That’s a good idea, all my Pokemon are Water-Type!” said a guy in a blue tanktop. Three trainers ran out to the dock and each released their Gyarados, Pidgeot, and Dewgong.
“Let’s go guys!” said Matthew to Jake, Adam & Brian. “We can do that too!”
“Yeah! Lets do it!” said Adam, with him and Brian following Matthew to the dock.
“Wait! I don’t even have a Water Pokemon or a Flying Pokemon!” said Jake. It was too late for Jake to catch up, Adam, Matthew & Brian and left with their Charizard, Gyarados, and Aerodactyl respectively.
“Wait, kids! You don’t have any idea what you’re doing!” screamed the sea captain, hoping to stop the reckless trainers from their imminent doom.
“Excuse me, sir.” Asked Jake the captain. “Do you have a computer with internet?”
“Oh, sure, its in the front.” The Captain pointed to the computer in the front.
“Thanks!” said Jake, going to use the computer. On the dock, Ash, Misty & Brock boarded a Viking Boat.
